Honeymoon, Bora Bora

Our Honeymoon has had a rough start. Although some things have been a slight bummer all we can really do is laugh. We have realized so many things through this process and I can honestly say I have married my best friend, my soul mate and damn do we sure make a great team!

We started yesterday at like 4pm in San Jose getting ready to leave. We had ordered some snorkel gear for us to take to Bora Bora. But it didn’t arrive on time so we headed out without it. Sandi drove us to target last minute to pick up some snorkel stuff before we got to the airport. We got to SF checked our bags pretty easily, on time and ready to go. We got through security hassle free and realized when we got into our gate that our flight from SF to LAX was delayed from 7:50PM to 9:30 PM. This was ok because our connector flight to Tahiti didn’t leave LAX till 11:50PM. Ryan made many phone calls to try and insure that the flight would wait for us. We then boarded our flight around 9:20PM and waited. We were assigned to sit in row 23 but after talking to the flight attendant she let us move up to the front so that we could get off the plane quickly to hall ass to our next flight. Frustration kicked in the longer we sat on the plane…there was NO pilot for us. He was stuck coming from Dallas and had not landed yet. By time the Pilot got there and did all of his checks for the flight we left SF at 10:45PM with little hope to make it to our flight. We landed in LAX at 11:30ish and we got a glimpse of hope thinking if we get to our gate we can bolt over to the international terminal run through security and find our gate. By time our plane was on the ground and attached to the gate for us to get out, it was 11:45PM. Ry and I did what all crazies do…we split up! Ry stayed to talked to someone about trying to call and hold our flight and me, well I ran as fast as I could to get to our plane. The People would not call the gate that our flight was at to try and hold it for us. There was a couple from France trying to also get to Bora Bora for their honeymoon as well. I booked it from the Domestic side, then outside in pouring rain, to the international side, found security asked some people if I could cut in front of them. I turned around and let me tell you I’ve never been so relieved and excited to see my newly husband turn the corner into security. I shouted to the lady, “that’s my husband the guy with the curly hair.” (always gets back to his beautiful hair) ;) We took off our shoes, sweat shirts, emptied our pockets and continued through security, oh wait we then got selected to have to get the peeper creepo naked body scan. Of course Ry goes first and then me. Ry gets stopped and I get cleared through. Ry left his passport wallet in his pants…looked risky and we lost five more minutes. We didn’t know what gate we were going to so gut reaction we stayed to the left. Running as fast as we could, we could hear names being called over the loud speaker. I don’t think our names were called but then a security man said are you going to Tahiti we shouted Yes and he said the plane is still here you need to get to gate 136. Of course that gate was to the right and the farthest possible gate. Ry ran with the computer and I ran with the backpack and sweat shirts. My backpack opened somehow and my dear travel pillow fell out. Some guy picked it up and yelled to me I dropped it. Oh thank God. I fricken would have been bummed to loose my travel pillow. Ryan got to the gate at 12:20AM and the French couple made it there too. All four of us missed the flight!

Since it was after midnight everything was closing up if it wasn’t closed already. We went to American Airlines desk. Back through the rain to the Domistic side of the airport. They were not very helpful and actually quite rude. They would not comp a hotel and sent us on a wild goose chase for our luggage. Missing the Red eye flight to Tahiti caused us to also miss our flight and boat to Bora Bora.

Thank God my Brother Nick and Janice live in LA and could come get us. I called them and they came, I didn’t realize it would take us another hour plus to get things somewhat squared away. They would not give us our bags because they were being held as we had been booked on the flight today at 4PM. Ry helped the French couple book a hotel and get on their way too. Nick, Janice, Ry and I around 2AM headed back to their house for some shut eye.

We woke up today with much hope and well just praying today would work and we’d get to go on our much longed for amazing Honeymoon. Ry was in contact with our travel agent and everyone else too. He is quite the bad ass when it comes to organizing with people and getting shit planned. And well me, not so much. Nick picked us up around 11:45AM and took us to the airport. The Air Tahiti Nui desk opened at 12:05 which really didn’t end up opening till 12:20PM. We saw the French couple and they had already gone back and forth that morning figuring out stuff too. Once again Ry and I split up. I stayed in line in the International part of the airport and Ry ran back to the Domestic to talk to the American Airlines peeps. Our travel agent Ellen had called and they said we were not booked on the flight and the confirmation number we were given at 1AM didn’t exist. I prayed for a travel miracle and 15 minutes later Ry came back with two printed boarding passes for the flight to Tahiti. There was no flight tonight to Bora Bora so we will be staying the night in Tahiti in a Hotel and flying to Bora Bora I think at like 6AM. I sure do hope our luggage makes it back to us. If it doesn’t oh well…we both have a swimsuit packed in our carry on backpack.

I am typing this as we are sitting on our flight to paradise (FINALLY). We only really lost a day and a half in Bora Bora but we are just so blessed and grateful to be together and be safe and alive. The flight is going well, some turbulence but it’s ok. My husband (that’s still a trip to say) is reading his Star wars book on his new gadget, a kindle that he got a in March for his B-day from his mom and dad. I’m not sure what kind of wifi there will be and I’m sure it will cost a butt load. So this may be our only post. Love you and see you guys soon!

April 12th

WE MADE IT to Bora Bora!!! And OMG it is the most AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL place!!!!

Ry and I are having a blast! And spent most of the day being awe struck! We went on a Jet Ski tour, which was awesome, and went around all of Bora Bora. The pictures won’t do it justice. But we will try.

We are off to dinner...and let me just say I could get used to this honeymoon thing!

We are having the best time together! And we just feel so blessed!

Happy Day After Valentine's Day!

Dear Ryan,

Happy Day After Valentines Day Babe!

I can't believe that our wedding is in like 44 days... I swear since the day I met you I felt like I already knew you. There was something there that was soo familiar to me and that was so comforting. You make me laugh and smile all the time. We have our billions of inside jokes and I think we even speak our own language sometimes. You make me feel like a Princess!

I cannot wait for our special day and I can honestly say I've loved this planning process with you! But man I will be happy when it is all done. You have been supportive through it all and you've have honestly given me everything and more. I love you more and more everyday, I will never stop loving you or wanting to be right by your side holding your hand.

You are my soulmate and I am so lucky that we met when we were so young. It has allowed us to grow not only as individuals but as a team. We have been with each other through many milestones. I love you with all my heart and soul and I cannot wait to watch our story continue and see where this adventure called life takes us.

Kissing you and hugging you is my FAVORITE!!!
This ring "is like a circle, it has no corners!" hahaha!

I look at this ring many times a day and just think how lucky am I to have you!! You are the perfect man for me! And I can fart in front of you and you laugh and say, "Whoa!"

This would not be a letter or conversation with me if it did not say fart or poop. haha!

I love you Babe to the moon and back!

Hugs

K

#75

Sometimes the number 75 sounds like a lot and sometimes it doesn't.

You get a 75% on a test and thats a crappy score.

You have 75 cents in your pocket, that's not much.

You are driving 75 mph, that can be considered speeding and you might get pulled over.

If someone randomly gave you a $75 gift card, you'd be so excited because that is a lot of money.

If you are planning a wedding and your website says you have 75 days left, you might react like me.

Wow we still have a lot of time or maybe we don't.

Things are coming together very smoothly and I couldn't be more excited.

We just met up with the Caterers (who are totally awesome) and they are going to help us better meet our budget.

Also we got our wedding favors together for the most part. (Thank you Brigantinos!)

My Bridal Shower is coming up... (Thank you Auntie and Jena)

Also my Bachelorette party is around the corner...PRAY for snow! (Thank you Sandi, Jena and Jill for planning everything)

I CANNOT wait to go hang in a cabin with all my girls!

We are going to go meet our jeweler this weekend to get a ring for Ry and look into a wedding band for me.

We also are going to be meeting up with our priest next weekend.

And also will be going to check the hall to figure out details for decorations and such.

Our invitations will be going out in February and I'm so excited for everyone to see our website.

So we have 75 more days and I'm enjoying the planning and taking in day by day.

I have one favor to ask please don't tell my anytime soon that "we are running out of time" or "so much to do and so little time" nothing along those lines.

I can't wait to marry the love of my life! My best friend! My soulmate! My Ryan!

Oh Tink...

Not sure why or if any of you have noticed but in the last 6 years or so Tinker Bell has made an uproar and has suddenly become somebody important at Disneyland.

Tinker Bell even has her own little Fairyland with all her Fairy Friends, and to take a picture with her sometimes you could possibly wait more than an hour....worth it, Ugh I think NOT!

For some reason I just think Tinker Bell is kinda slutty, her dress is way hoochie short and she is so jealous of Wendy and Peter Pan.

My friend Sandi and I have a running inside joke about Tinker Bell and we love to watch her in the firework show...good ol' Pixie D(Cr)ust!! hahaha!

Ever since a firework show, who knows how long ago we have been buying each other funny, shitty, retarded Tinker Bell things. For example...Tink socks, Tink pillow with tassels and jewls, messed up antenna topper, glow in the dark Tink, Spread eagle pin Tink, morning after pin Tink, lip gloss watch Tink that broke in 10 minutes.

Oh I almost forgot remote control flying flutter fairy Tink! That has a flower wand to make her fly!

Long story short Tink makes us laugh and we both now own a ridiculous amount of Tinker Bell CRAP!! I mean stuff!

We saw this Nighty at Disneyland and died laughing.
It says, "Who were you expecting...Sleeping Beauty?"

I mean common Tink...Sober up! hahaha!

Anyways this post goes out to you Sand hope you are having fun!

I'm a Fiancée!!!

Can you even believe it!

It happen Friday as soon as I got home from work...There was a Rose in the door handle.

And I thought to myself ugh...is this really happening?

I opened the door to a path of rose petals leading to my bed.

Ryan was hiding and then came out holding a rose all dressed up in his black suit.

The whole proposal was genuine, simple and US!!!

I'd tell you more detail but Ry is a private guy and he reads my blog so I'd never get away with it!

I couldn't have wished for it to be another way and my ring couldn't be more BEAUTIFUL!!!

Just wanted to share a couple pictures from that night and the weekend.

Enjoy!

Awe...Doesn't he look sooo HOT!!! Get used to it because that is probably exactly what he'll be wearing on the special day.
For Dinner he even had the Bestie Sandi surprise me! Thank you Sandi and Steve for being part of our special night.
Ryan took me to dinner at Shadow Brook in Capitola
And my ring is amazing and Ry did an amazing job!
It is so unique and I love to wear it and look at it all day!

So excited to start planning and continue the adventures of Ry and K

I love you Babe and can't wait to be an Andrade, but note to self if you want to be a Leal thats okay too! :)

Happy 7 Year Anniversary!

On Halloween Ry and I celebrated 7 years together.

We spent the night at my besties in Capitola and then spent the next day in Monterey.

Enjoying one of our favorites, clam chowder in a bread bowl.

Sometimes I cant believe how long we have been together but the truth is I've loved every second of it.

I love that we finally live together again and get to end the day and wake up next to each other.

We will see where the wind takes us in the marriage department... Teehee!!

A feel good thing

So this evening Ryan's little sister Nicki called me because for school she needed to interview someone in her family, and she picked me!

Wow can you even believe it!

I trumped all three brothers. Jay, Just and even RY!

And I had a hard time not rubbing it in Ry's face.

So Nicki asked me around nine questions and the one that I hard the hardest time answer was, when was a time that you were really proud of yourself.

And the truth is I never really stopped to think about what I've done that makes me proud of myself but yet I know that I am proud of myself for many things.

I ended up telling her the day I got my full time job, because it was the first thing that I truly felt I got all on my own with no ones help. And that made me proud.

But it was kind of crazy that I actually had to think about what I was proud of myself for and that I didn't have an instant answer.

It really touched my heart to be picked for Nicki's Family interview and the truth is I'm so very blessed to be part of the Andrade family.

Not officially with a ring or something but from date one they welcomed me with smiles and open arms.

They are so loving and I could not have asked for better inlaws! :)

Side note my first memory of meeting Nicki was when Ry and I went the Winter Ball, Nicki put on her prettiest dress and came done from her room to take pictures with us.

I love you Nicki from the bottom of my heart and soul!

I'm so lucky that you consider me your sister and part of your family.

Party in the bathtub up in Tahoe

Tesching Nicki to have a Wild side!

Big Hugs!

Holla it's PD!

Yup thats right...PAY DAY!!

Today was my first pay day and I also got my teacher badge and key to the front door.

For the first time I am one of those people who have direct deposit.

I'm not sure if I like it yet, although it does save a trip to the bank but I don't ever get to cash a check.

humm...

I'm so excited to have a job that makes more than minimum wage!

I feel like such a big kid.

I'm actually making some money and I really love my job.

I have been trying to figure out my expenses and how much I should save for up coming things.

Like maybe for a big party that starts with a "W"

I don't know? :)

Although I do have an exciting student loan to pay for coming up.

My goal is to pay it off by next August.

So we will see how that pans out.

Well until next time...
Bottoms UP!!

My new Babies!

So I started work with the kids this week...and I love it! They are so cute and funny!

You know you've found your perfect job when you're working and it doesn't even feel like work. The worst thing about my job is just getting up early, thats it. And once I'm there I forget about the time. I'm so blessed to have a great partner teacher and 7 beautiful babies in my class. Although in two weeks I'll have two more. And truth be told they are so cute, that wiping butts and snotty noses isn't even that bad.

This is how my kids sit for story time they are all under two and can sit and listen to 3 books. Today we definitely read "Polar bear polar bear what do you hear." An oldie but goodie!

I can't wait to see this group of kids grow up and get potty trained and become confident, fun loving children. I seriously love them and it's been 4 days. I'm so lucky to spend 40 hours out of my week with them. So worth it!

Last day of Summer!

Today is my last day of freedom!

I start work tomorrow.

I am finally joining the world with a 8 to 5pm job.

Tomorrow and Friday the school is closed to clean and fix up the classrooms to start the new year on Monday.

I'm so excited to see where this job takes me and if I am even good at it.

I just really hope it goes well.

I love that it is the hottest time of year when we are going to be cleaning the entire school.

And I'm sure since I'm one of the youngest I'll be doing the dirty work, like the high up places and the crawl underneath places :)

Oh well, I'm just happy to have an income and a job!

Camping with the Bestie

Every August for both of our birthdays, Sandi and I escape the world and go camping just us.

Sandi and I rocking the Jamba visors. One perk of working there!

This year we went to a place called Sugar Pine Reservoir.

It was BEAUTIFUL and the water was so clean and clear.

Sandi got a new inflatable Kayak that we got to try out too.

Our campsite was cozy and was isolated enough to pop a squat and not have to walk to the bathroom every 30 minutes! haha!

It had a view of the water and there was a break in the trees so that we could see the amazing stars at night.

There was supposed to be a neat meteor shower but we didn't stay up late enough for it.

But we did see about 6 shooting stars :)

Kayaking was neat and totally awesome, but I must say my arms were mighty sore the next day.

As always we had fun talking, laughing and just sharing some one on one time together.
Love you Sandi and Thanks for being YOU!!

Can't wait for next time...

It's August!

You know what that means?!

It's almost my birthday!

August 14th if you don't know :)

I'm a huge fan of birthdays!

I believe in having a birthday party with all the people that are close to you.

I also usually milk my birthday for a week but in the recent years it's becoming more of a birthday few weeks.

This year opening ceremonies started in July when we had girls shopping day and my grandma bought me some professional clothes to help get me a job.

This year my birthday is on a Saturday and of course one of Ryan's cousins is getting married on my birthday.

UGH! Total bummer!

I'm not bitter at all! :)

Anyways, heres some pictures from the last few birthdays.

My Birthday at Chevys!

My friends that show up every year!

21 Birthday Bash

This past year I spent my birthday in Croatia with Ryan's relatives and they surprised me with two cakes. Yummy!! Funny story about the #2's. Ryan's cousins actually had to drive to a couple other towns on the island to find another #2.

We had cake for breakfast!!

Something New..

"I kept Runnin." -Forest Gump

Tomorrow I'm running the Wharf to Wharf which is a six mile run from Santa Cruz to Capitola.

From what I hear there are bands playing along the way, balloon arches at every mile and people just having a good time being healthy.

I do admit I am a fan of shows like Biggest Loser and the most recent Losing It with Jillian Michaels.

And I've realized how much of life and working out it like 90% mental.

It is a constant mind game.

Your body will do anything, it is just wrapping your mind around it.

I'm really excited to run the wharf to wharf this year with my friend Sandi and her sisters.

I've actually never ran 6 miles straight before so we'll see.

I'm sure this is something I should have trained a little more for.

I'll keep you posted on if we survive! :)

Happy Summer Everyone!!
Hope you all take some time this summer to put on your tennis shoes and go out for a walk or run! The flowers out and around are beautiful!

More Road trip pictures...

Here are some more pictures from our road trip.

Enjoy!
Badlands National Park
Mt. Rushmore was amazing to see! Doesn't Ry fit right in! HAHA
Ryan is ready to start working for Ryan Potato Co.
In other states 7-11 = Loaf 'n Jug
My big brother at his desk! He works for city planning in Grand Forks and East Grand Forks! His has his own office and a Man desk! So proud of him!

Zion National Park

Here are some more pictures from our road trip. We are currently in Wyoming tonight couch surfing with a girl that goes to school at the college here. These pictures are from the other day in Zion National Park.
There was only one hike that we could take the dogs on.
These pictures don't do the sites justice but the mountains are HUGE and gorgeous!
We were all sweaty from hiking that we decided to jump in the Virgin river in our unders. As you can see they are in the bottom left of the picture. haha! It was a long way back everyone going commando! :)

This was the view we woke too.
Our evening hike towards the narrows of Zion's mountains. We couldn't get all the way to the corner because of flash floods.

We are having a great time! Tomorrow we are driving to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore and then Sunday to North Dakota. The sites have been beautiful and the land is just open and so much sky. I drove 380 miles today and of course got pulled over. It was actually kind of funny. We were just driving and singing and saw some antelope so I pulled over really so we could take a picture and of course I pulled of the road 60 to stopping in like a couple seconds. And yes there was a cop that had been following me and my speed has been fluctuating for a while. Thank God the cop was nice and let me go without a ticket! I have gotten really lucky in this department.

Well life on the road has been fun and full of jokes and laughing!

More Pictures...

Another state crossed!

First time threw Arizona! I found a Mile 0 sign laying on the ground so the normal thing is to pick it up and pose.

Matt caught a lizard, it was neat and had spots. Ruby and Sierra had a blast trying to chase down lizards.

State #3...UTAH!

The dogs are excited to sit in the back seat and parting with me. All smiles all the time.

Ryan found this sign to be hilarious!

I Fell Into a Valley of Fire!

Hi everyone,

This is Ryan, guest-blogging on Kristina's site! We're trekking across the western US, making our way up to North Dakota, and are currently stationed at the house of some locals in Provo, Utah, home of Brigham Young University. However, our journey began much earlier, and our first stop was in Valley of Fire State Park, about 45 minutes outside of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Check out the pics below, and expect some more from Kristina!

This is us camped out at the state-line leaving California and entering Nevada. We're trying to take a picture by the sign of every new state we enter.
(side note from K- we are trying to pole dance)

Although this wasn't our first view of it, this was our first destination, Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. We rolled in at about 1AM in pitch black, after not having seen a car for about 20 miles.
This is Kristina now as you may realize the grammar and word choice will be not as profound! The campground was essentially empty, and sooo fricken windy! Our tent would blow like crazy every 35 seconds. It was basically like someone was shaking our tent. We didn't sleep much so to say. The picture above is of Ry climbing up one of the cliffs.

And that is a picture of me from above. Thats me and the dogs.

Matt, Sierra and Ruby at the camp site. We had no idea of the surroundings until the morning and it was amazing!

This picture is a story of our relationship, me trying to mack on Ry and him just looking at me! Matt took this picture just high lighting the orange.
